After watching Jon Niese go toe-to-toe with Philadelphia's Roy Halladay, Niese was unable to close the deal and earned his fourth loss of the season.
In vintage Philly fashion, the afternoon went from a 1-0 Mets lead to a 2-1 Phillies victory thanks to a solo homer from John Mayberry and a well-executed sac fly off the bat of the hot-hitting Placido Polanco.
