Is It Time for Thole to Step Down?

Josh Burton of Mets Today suggested that Ronny Paulino become the starting catcher for the Mets and have Josh Thole take on a more back-up role.

This was my comment:

On Thole, I agree with you, Paulino needs to be the starting catcher until Josh can get his bat going, he looks overwhelmed at the plate, I think the responsibility of being the everyday catcher is starting to wear on him, having Collins relinquish him from catching Pelfrey doesn't help matters either. It's definitely mental at this point.

Sometimes you can give praise to a catcher's defense if he's not hitting, unfortunately, this is not the case here.

Although, Paulino has cooled off since his 5-hit debut at CBP. His last game last Wednesday, he went 0-for-3 with 3 strikeouts.
