Some Thoughts On the Mets First Win of the Season

What was up with that pop up early on in the game between Emaus and Reyes, somebody has to catch that ball. Also, heading into the bottom of the tenth, I wasn't sure who Collins was going to bring in to pitch. Parnell had already been used and there was no way K-Rod was coming out after blowing the save. I thought Blaine Boyer did a good job aka the Verizon guy w/the red beard.

David Wright was able to redeem himself for that bad play at third that prolonged the inning for Niese by producing the go-ahead run in the tenth inning. I know it's only two games but the defense needs a little more fine-tuning, don't you think.

I know the Mets won (6-4 @FLA, 10 inngs.) and I don’t want to knit-pick but did you catch when Collins replaced Ike Davis for Chin-lung Hu as a pinch runner, assuring Murphy 1B for the remainder of the game. The hit that tied the game up for the Marlins went through Murphy. The first thing I thought was, “Could Ike have made that play?”

During the post-game, Collins defended his move by saying he liked the defense he had set up for the ninth w/Hu and Willie Harris in LF, I’d image not necessarily Murphy at 1B, great game, anyway, great win for TC.

Beltran update - scored the Mets second run from first on a double in the gap from Ike Davis. Most likely a day off Sunday in the rubber match for Beltran. Good luck, R.A.
