Sanchez Starts Where He Left Off Last Season

The Florida Marlins have always been a thorn in the Mets side. Most recently, Florida’s 27 year-old-first baseman, Gaby Sanchez, has earned himself the moniker of “Met-killer” for his outstanding offensive production against them.

Looking at last season’s numbers against the Mets, in 18 games, Sanchez went 27-for-68 (.397 BA) with 9 doubles, 3 home runs, and 15 RBI finishing with an OPS of 1.090.

In last night’s game, a loss for the Mets, Sanchez continued his onslaught by registering a 2-for-4 performance at the plate with a double, run scored, and a run batted in.

With two games remaining in the series, the Mets starters, Jon Niese and R.A Dickey, will be paying close attention to Sanchez, I’m sure.
