For Santana, Last Three Starts Are Uncharted Territory

my comment on The Baseball Analyst Facebook Fan Page...Johan says his feels OK but I'm not sure, he needs a full season under his belt, needs to get stronger, may just be hitting a wall, as for the rest of the Mets pitching staff, they can all take a dart and give it a chuck because it's a crap shoot and every one of these guys is aiming for a bulls' eye

Santana's line Friday night - 3 IP - 7 H - 6 ER - 3 BB - 3 K - 2 HR - (6 W - 7 L, 3.98 ERA)

In his last three starts including last night's, Santana has allowed 19 earned runs in just 12.2 IP which equals out to a 13.51 earned run average. He has given up an average of 2.2 hits per inning during that stretch along with 6 home runs.

Maybe Santana IS just in a slump as he had stated after last night's, 8-7, loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He does own the Mets only no-hitter in franchise history. His strikeout numbers aren't too shabby either for a guy who's coming off of major shoulder surgery.

What do you guys think?
