Santana Does His Job and Does It Well

Jose Reyes remained consistent at the plate by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, not to mention his two stolen bases, nice to see Jose, Jose, Jose tearing up those base paths...Johan Santana proved again why he's the ace of the Mets staff and an exceptional second-half pitcher to boot by throwing a complete-game shutout, the team’s 17th overall this season...Carlos Beltran found his groove at the plate for once by going 3-for-3...if it’s any consolation, the Mets have won three out of their last five games and will attempt to win back-to-back games since June 23rd tom’row night against the Phils...with the exception of K-Rod’s misfortunes off-the-field, another positive victory for the Metsies.
